About the opportunity:

We're currently seeking a dedicated Design Administrator to become a valuable part of our expanding Technical Documentation team at our Stonehouse Office.

As a Design Administrator, you'll play a crucial role in providing technical administrative support to the design and construction departments. Your responsibilities will include ensuring necessary documentation is in place to meet accreditation requirements for timely connections and energisations.

During the initial 6 months in this position, you'll collaborate closely with your team members to gain a comprehensive understanding of the Utility industry and recognise the pivotal role this position holds in the success of UKPS. Your responsibilities:

  • Applications to external companies for projects in design or construction
  • Liaising and communicating with designers, technicians, project managers and other internal departments.
  • Accepting and amending asset value
  • Facilitating Adoption Agreements to be issued and signed by all required parties and in place to ensure connections can progress
  • Assisting in the Gas and Water design process
  • Raising meter reference number with the applicable adopting network
  • Updating internal systems throughout the project and uploading necessary documents.
  • Ensuring all data is filed and organised in an efficient and user-friendly way

About you

Experience / Knowledge

  • Previous administration and/or document control experience within a technical / highly regulated environment preferred
  • Previous experience in the utility sector desirable but not essential 

Attributes:

  • Very strong organisational skills are essential
  • Enthusiasm to learn/develop  
  • Must be approachable and have good communication skills 
  • Sound working knowledge of MS Excel 
  • Ability to work independently and under own initiative is essential 
  • Ability to work well in a team environment 
  • Flexible perspective as new tasks will be allocated and amended as demands change and the department continues to grow.
