About the opportunity:
We are currently looking for a permanent Senior Asset Inspector to join our growing Asset Adoption department in Scotland region.
As a Senior Asset Inspector, you will support the team Manager in providing leadership to the Asset Inspectors, including setting priorities, setting targets and monitoring and managing individuals and team performance. You will also provide a comprehensive advisory and support function for the construction and adoption of electrical networks that are to be adopted by Last Mile Electricity Limited (LMEL). You will be required to undertake site base inspections and surveys ensuring Last Mile Asset Management (LMAM) assets are constructed in accordance with technical and safety standards and liaise with independent connection providers (ICP) to ensure any construction issues are identified through to successful resolution. Work closely to develop productive relationships.

Your responsibilities:
- Lead a team of multi discipline Asset Inspectors carrying out all site-based quality inspections and surveys ensuring electricity and gas distribution assets are constructed and commissioned in accordance with all industry and company technical and safety standards.
- Ensure that where required Asset Inspectors are regularly assessed, developed, and trained to ensure ongoing competence to undertake roles
- Responsibility for Asset Inspectors welfare and engagement
- Carry out audit checks on all aspects of the network construction including
- Provide advice to Independent Connection Providers (ICP) working with or on behalf of LMAM on health, safety, environmental, quality, and best practice matters. To work closely and develop productive relationships.
- Establish and maintain productive two-way relationships with ICPs to provide for continued improvement by way of identifying issues and decreasing construction related issues.
- To conduct post adoption regulatorily inspections in accordance with industry guidance and procedures.
- Provide first response for faults and liaise with emergency service providers to ensure guaranteed standards of performance are achieved.
- Ensure that safe working practices are always maintained.
- Manage regular and routine correspondence with internal and external stakeholders to control and deliver onsite requirements.
- Provide monthly reports detailing audits complete, issues and trends.
- Provide onsite support for ICPs enquiries.
- Liaise with up-stream Network Operators as and when required.
- Carry out other duties which are appropriate to the post as may be reasonably requested by your Line Manager.
Experience / Knowledge:
Relevant Utility experience in Electrical Distribution
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Experienced in risk assessment, auditing, and risk management techniques
Maintain and analyse reports and inspections results
Experience of construction and operations of electricity and gas distribution networks
Excellent knowledge of gas and electricity industry standards at application level
Desirable:
Understanding of Electrical Industry Registration Scheme and Gas Industry Registration Scheme
Operational authorisation
NRSWA Qualification
NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH or SMSTS Qualification
Qualifications:
Craft Qualification/ Apprenticeship
HNC/HND in Engineering desirable
