Project Accountant – Stonehouse, Gloucestershire

As a Project Accountant at Last Mile working under the UKPS brand, in this role, you will report directly into the Head of Project Finance and Change Control, you will be managing all aspects of project accounting at UKPS, including financial accounting, analysis, and reporting for project revenues, costs and margin. Your primary focus is to ensure adherence to revenue recognition standards, produce accurate financial reports, and provide valuable insights into project profitability and performance.

Your responsibilities as a Project Accountant:

  • Ensuring application of appropriate revenue recognition policies in line with accounting in UKPS for project-based revenue.
  • Assist in preparation of project-specific financial reports, including revenue, cost of sales, profitability, and variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure alignment between project performance and financial reporting
  • Provide insights on revenue forecasts and project margin analyses.
  • Monitor project financial performance against the budget, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.

Experience / Knowledge:

  •  Experience of contract cost management
  • Previous experience in a project accounting role (desirable)
  • QS experience (desirable)

Qualifications

  • Generally accepted Finance qualification (CIMA/AAT) (desirable)
