Project Accountant (Maternity Cover) – Hamilton, Glasgow

Our dedicated team in Hamilton, Glasgow is expanding, and we're excited to welcome a talented Project Accountant to our join us on a 12-month fixed term contract.

As a Project Accountant at Last Mile working under our Energetics brand, you will provide support to the Finance Controller and Associate Director, Finance to ensure successful delivery of finance objectives.

Your responsibilities as a Project Accountant:

  • Meeting month end deadlines to allow timely review of the month end results by Financial Controller
  • Ownership of projects. Controlling, maintaining and fixing postings whilst focussing on outliers in terms of margin, spend and unbudgeted spend, with challenge going back to Operations and Commercial team to ensure accurate allocation of cost and revenue
  • Work with auditors for yearend statutory accounts, being lead contact for any Project related queries
  • Production of Regional Project analysis and driving cost reductions
  • Provide support to Finance Assistants with technical accounting matters as required

 

Experience / Knowledge:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • High level of technical industry knowledge
  • Highly competent in report building
  • Advanced Excel skills

Qualifications:

  • Qualified or part qualified accountant working towards a professional qualification (ACCA, CA, CIMA or equivalent)
