As a Networks Manager at Last Mile, you will develop a Networks team capable of ensuring compliance with safety best practices, relevant legislation, accreditations, and industry and company standards. 

You will oversee the day-to-day control, maintenance, management, and operational integrity of water and wastewater networks. Additionally, you will develop, maintain, and implement asset management documentation and standards specific to these networks, ensuring that their operation and maintenance align with asset management objectives and standards. Moreover, you will provide expert knowledge and input into the technical construction and installation standards for adoptable water and wastewater assets.

Your responsibilities as a Networks Manager:

  • Take responsibility for the day to day monitoring the performance and integrity of water & wastewater networks and associated assets
  • Leading the operational response to remedy any operational issues and defects identified on water & wastewater assets. This includes interface with either the bulk supply or bulk discharge company.
  • Develop systems which allow for the regular reporting of agreed key performance indicators for both asset classes. This includes ownership of associated policies, procedures, technical standards etc. 
  • Work with internal legal and contract teams to ensure contracts with external service providers comply with safety best practice, legislation, accreditations, industry and company standards. 
  • Taking a risk-based approach develop network and asset inspection and maintenance programmes for both asset classes. 

 

Experience / Knowledge:

  • Prior experience in a similar role within the Utility sector.
  • Experience & understanding of Health & Safety.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining engineering policies and design standards.
  • Experience with all Microsoft packages

 

Qualifications (desirable):

  • Chartered Engineer Status
  • Incorporated Engineer (IEng) recognised by ICE, CIWEM (or expected to achieve within 6 months).
  • IOSH / NEBOSH General Certificate.
