About the opportunity:
Are you ready to electrify your career? We’re looking for an Design Engineer (Multi-Utility) to join our vibrant Energetics Design team at Last Mile in our Hamilton, Glasgow or Warrington office! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with electrical experience to step in and learn the multi-utility industry.
As a Design Engineer (Multi-Utility), you'll lead the charge from quote acceptance to design approval, collaborating with sales teams on technical matters and ensuring every design meets the highest standards for construction as part of our Energetics brand. You'll also handle the completion of bill of quantities, design variations, and costing in line with our commercial and financial procedures.

Your responsibilities as an Design Engineer:
- Manage a portfolio of electric design projects ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards and technical policies and bulletins
- Responsible for managing all aspects of the design life-cycle from quotation to adoption, ensuring that time-bound milestones are achieved
- Create cost effective solutions for domestic, industrial and commercial, EVCP and high rise developments
- Liaison with Design Engineers to ensure appropriate technical input and compliance with standards is achieved
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including Delivery Teams, Operations Team and Developers
- Liaise as required with external agencies including gas / electricity network operators and water companies
- Verify contract against original quote, ensuring that assumptions, plant and equipment and non-contestable works are valid and within specification
About you:
Experience / Knowledge:
- Experience of designing electrical projects in a range of domestic, industrial and commercial, EVCP and high rise sectors
- Experience of CDM regulations and ability to interpret and apply to design solutions
- Practical knowledge of relevant new roads and streetworks regulations
- Ability to effectively understand and interpret complex engineering drawings and appropriate commercial documentation
Qualifications: (desired not essential)
- SHEA Power
- HNC/Degree in an Engineering related discipline
- Registered to minimum EngTech level with IET
