Multi-Utility Assistant – Cornwall

As a Multi-Utility Assistant at UKPS (part of the Last Mile Group), you’ll work alongside the Team Leader, assisting in the installation of gas and water networks to the highest standards. You’ll ensure all work is completed safely, professionally, and in full compliance with UKPS GIRS and WIRS Method Statements.
We are looking for individuals with a passion for learning and development, offering a clear pathway to progress into a Main Layer role. Candidates with NCO Gas and Water Experienced Worker authorisations, National Water Hygiene (Blue Card), and EUSR SHEA Gas and Water qualifications will also be considered.

Your responsibilities as a Multi-Utility Assistant:
- Ensure all tasks are performed safely and comply with UKPS Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies, promoting a zero-incident culture.
- Support the Team Leader in laying and jointing pipes, maintaining water hygiene standards, and adhering to established procedures, technical standards, and specifications.
- Represent UKPS professionally while following instructions, ensuring proper use of tools, equipment, and plant for efficient task execution.
- Complete all necessary training, understand task requirements, and uphold strong communication with team members and external stakeholders.
- Report accidents, near misses, and quality issues, contributing to audits, quality assurance, and maintaining high operational standards.
Experience / Knowledge:
- An understanding of correct depths, sanding, tape, other utilities
Qualifications:
- Registered with Energy and Utility Skills Register (EUSR) for SHEA Water and Gas
- Minimum requirement- NCO Water Assistant (essential)
- NCO Gas Assistant or above (desirable)
- EUSR or ECS card
- Full UK driving licence
- Registered with EUSR Water Hygiene Card
- Network Construction Operations (water) level 1
