About the opportunity:

We are currently looking for a permanent Multi Utility Operative to join our growing Operations North department in North region. 

As a Multi-Utility Operative you will take the lead on multi-utility projects installing water, gas and electric mains and services on new housing developments and Industrial and Commercial sites. All installations must comply to NJUG, completed on time with total emphasis on Safety and Quality.

Your responsibilities: 

  • Comply with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements. 

  • Work only within your authorised safety and technical competencies. 

  • Ensure all work is completed safely, to specification and on time. 

  • Create a safe working environment for all works considering all potential associated risks and placing control measure where required. 

  • Follow all given Company Procedures, Guidelines and Safe Working Practices. 

  • Continuously monitor works and maintain safe working environment. 

  • Prepare for linear excavation works by the correct identification of existing plant and use of trail holes to confirm route. 

  • Ensure all utilities are installed to NJUG requirements. 

  • Prepare, build, test, and commission all utility assets as required within your authorised competencies. 

  • Record and correctly complete all asset data through your tablet devise. 

  • Protect installed utility assets by installation of sand base and sand cover as required. 

  • Contribute to an efficient and effective work environment during gas, water, and electric network operations. 

  • Contribute to health, safety & environment in the workplace during gas, water and electric network operations. 

  • Safely operate and maintain all plant, powered tools, and equipment and always ensure security. 

  • Maintain plant and tools and ensure security of all equipment. 

  • Prepare resources & segregate the area for highway works during gas, water, and electric network operations. 

 

Qualifications: 

Essential: 

Full Driving licence. 

NC0 2 Main & Services Gas and Water up to 180mm or above 

Gas, Water, and Power SHEA Card 

Water Hygiene Card 

NRSWA Ticket 

First Aid 

Manual Handling 

CPCS / NPORS Excavator up to 10t 

CPCS / NPORS Dumper  

Cable laying knowledge and experience 

Good practical skills 

Desirable: 

Gas Meter Fitting 

SCO 1, 2 & 5 

Winch Ticket
