About the opportunity:

We are currently looking for a permanent Learning and Development Manager to join at our Hamilton/Stonehouse office or for the right candidate on a remote basis.

As an L&D Manager you will support the effective delivery of all aspects of the learning and development offer for Last Mile. Working closely with key stakeholders the role will ensure the compliance of our workforce and provide pathways for people to enter the business and progress through Last Mile.

Your responsibilities:

  • To support on the design and delivery of a learning and development strategy aligned to business requirements
  • Manage the performance and continual development of any direct reports
  • Design and deliver a range of training solutions to help support the development and performance of colleagues
  • Support on the design and delivery of a Last Mile leadership development programme
  • Support on the design and delivery of talent programmes to help retain and develop key populations through bespoke programmes and career pathways
  • Support with the design of the annual PDR (Performance Development Review) process and delivery of a range of training resources to help managers and colleagues have meaningful and effective conversations
  • Work with the other L&D leads to develop engaging and effective online learning content
  • Drive forward the utilisation of our LMS and online learning content
  • Work with HR to ensure the effective onboarding and induction of new starters
  • Manage funding channels i.e. FWDF (Flexible Workforce Development Fund) on behalf of the business
  • Continually monitor and review the effectiveness of training courses and programmes, making recommendations for future improvements
  • Deliver key projects for Last Mile on behalf of learning and development, ensuring the alignment to business requirements and the engagement of key stakeholders
  • Report on key KPI’s and metrics for learning and development
  • Manage external providers to ensure the effective delivery of training courses, programmes and accreditations
  • Represent Last Mile at networking and industry events to promote the business 
  • Keep abreast of latest trends, developments and opportunities to ensure we’re delivering best in class training

Experience / Knowledge:

Experience supporting, guiding and developing people

Training design and delivery

Previous experience of learning and development within the utilities sector

Previous experience working across a group of companies

Designing online learning content

 

Learning & Development related qualification desirable

Attributes

Confident and engaging communicator

Strong relationship building skills with individuals at all levels

Strong IT skills including MS office

A motivated self-starter
