Investment Analyst

About the opportunity:

Last Mile invests in essential infrastructure assets across Great Britain, including electricity, gas, water, wastewater and heat networks. We are looking for an Investment Analyst, to assist on all aspects of investment appraisal and asset performance evaluation. This role is important in ensuring that Last Mile invests its available capital efficiently and that financial performance of its assets is well understood and reported in order to better inform future decision making. Reporting to the Senior Investment Analyst, and with exposure to the senior leadership team, this is an exciting and challenging role within a rapidly growing group of companies and excellent career prospects.

Your responsibilities:

• Support in the preparation and maintenance of underlying asset valuation models across all utilities, including regular review and update of key assumptions as appropriate.
• Support the preparation of detailed revenue analysis for existing installed assets, orderbook and pipeline.
• Assist in the review of revenue tariff changes including understanding of the impact of changes on our existing installed assets, orderbook and pipeline.
• Support new product and service development as required, including establishment of new asset valuation models to support investment decisions.
• Valuation support to business development colleagues.
• Preparation of investment and asset performance reporting, including dashboards.
• Other ad hoc tasks as required by line manager and the senior leadership team

Experience / Knowledge:

• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Appreciation of business and commercial principles.
• A keen eye for detail.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics) or equivalent practical experience.
