About the opportunity:

We are currently looking for a Head of Marketing to start up a newly created Marketing department at our Stonehouse or Hamilton Office.

There is a possibility for this role to be a Job Shared opportunity. 

This new role business partners the Managing Directors of our two largest operational business areas – Design & Build and Operate & Maintain. Our group’s marketing and CRM needs span multiple brands, markets, and regions, requiring a collaborative and pragmatic mindset. The role requires someone who can see the bigger picture, take into account our brand and narrative, while implementing local marketing solutions that help us achieve our strategic outcomes.

Your responsibilities:

•             Assess the marketing needs of the business

•             Develop multi-channel B2B marketing strategies

•             Improve and align customer focus and CRM across Last Mile

•             Direct the user experience and marketing content for our online channels

•             Develop a new Last Mile marketing function

 

Assess the marketing needs

•             Review current marketing activity in each business area, across all regions and markets.

•             Review customer focus and CRM – how well we know our customers across all markets (B2B and B2C), how we build relationships, the end-to-end customer journey, channels, systems and processes.

•             Identify best practice, key threats/risks and opportunities for improvement

Improve and align customer focus and CRM across the business

  • Propose a strategy and plan for marketing and CRM at Last Mile. Including:
  • Comprehensive understanding of key markets using robust data analytics
  • Ensuring customer focus across Last Mile – both B2B and our regulated businesses (B2C).
  • Unlocking new business opportunities.
  • Helping to shape the future with industry-leading insight

Develop multi-channel marketing strategies

  • Accountable for developing and delivering long term, omni-channel marketing strategies – including goals, structure, metrics, and budget – in line with the Last Mile business plan, narrative and brand.
  • Identify, organise and relationship manage regional marketing support and third-party agencies where applicable.
  • Use data driven results to reinforce successful initiatives and scale back unsuccessful ones.
  • Manage online channels: Manage the user experience and content strategy for relevant websites and social media.

•             Work closely with the business development and sales teams in the subsidiary companies to gather insights on how to tailor messaging and understand results.

•             Build relevant campaigns for the target audiences and communications that are engaging, impactful and bring prospects and existing clients on relevant journeys.

•             Planning and management of proprietary and industry conferences and events (both live and online) including organising sessions, negotiating sponsorship packages, and managing the production process of onsite and online marketing materials.

 

Experience / Knowledge:

8+ years’ integrated marketing experience

Experience in the construction or utilities sector

B2B marketing and CRM

​Qualification:

Desirable Degree in Marketing or any related discipline

Attributes:

Self-starter who can make decisions.

Confident communicator

High energy; ability to collaborate and build strong relationships across the organisation and

thrive in a fast-paced environment

Deep knowledge of CRM and building customer relationships in a B2B environment

Ability to deal directly with clients to support our marketing activities.

Knowledge of marketing technologies including CRM, marketing automation, social media

platforms and Google Analytics.
