About the opportunity:

We are currently looking for a permanent Field Services Technician to join our growing Asset Management department in the North region (ideally Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Blackpool, Leeds, Bolton, Preston).

As a Field Services Technician you will undertake a wide range of asset maintenance activities on both potable and wastewater assets. You will be working remotely, however you will be required to respond to and take ownership of delivering solutions to issues on site.

Your responsibilities:

•             Leakage and pressure monitoring, including logger installation.

•             Customer water meter data collection, Fault diagnosis and replacement.

•             Customer Services – attending and responding to customer enquiries.

•             Water Fittings inspections

•             Mains flushing and sampling

•             Sewer network inspections – such as camera operations to locate blockages, Fault diagnosis and assessment of appropriate remedial actions.

•             Wastewater Treatment Works – monitoring, maintenance.

•             Inspection, monitoring and maintenance of SuDs (sustainable drainage systems)

•             Liaising with and supervising external contractors.

•             Organising jet vac unit to attend to resolve blocked sewers.

•             Liaising and communicating with office-based staff or the Senior Field Technician to ensure correct hydrants are flushed and appropriate samples are collected, loggers at installed at appropriate locations etc

•             Reporting any defects or installation issues

 

Experience / Knowledge:

Ideally the role holder will have UK Water Industry experience in at least in one or more of the following asset management areas:

  • Water Network Operations and Maintenance
  • Sewer Network Performance Investigations, Inspections, and Maintenance
  • Wastewater Treatment Works – Operation, monitoring, maintenance
  • Leakage and Pressure Investigations, including data logging, and PRV's
  • SuDs – Monitoring and maintenance
  • Inspections to assess compliance with Water Fittings Regulations.

Desirable:

•             EUSR Water SHEA and National Water Hygiene card

•             Appropriate Water related vocational and competency-based qualifications awarded by recognised body such as CABWI
