About the opportunity:

 

We are currently looking for a permanent Electrical Supervisor to join our Operations department in the North Region.

 

As an Electrical Supervisor you will support the operational delivery team with electrical installations, supervision of electrical teams, and making sure scheduled works are completed safely, to specification, and in accordance with our customer requirements. They will coordinate onsite electrical works to ensure full compliance with Energetics Safety Rules, Procedures and our NERS accreditation.

Your responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the Electrical teams to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of scheduled works and site supervision of operatives and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with safety and technical requirements
  • Ensure compliance within jointing teams of all NERS activities to enforce company compliance with current legislation including processes, procedures, and competencies
  • Drive efficiencies and continuous improvements focusing on quality, safety, cost, and project delivery
  • Ensure electrical materials are to the correct specification and available for all programmed works
  • Demonstrate, implement, and enforce high standards of workmanship and safety in all areas. This includes the work of subcontractors employed to undertake work on behalf of Energetics
  • Ensure compliance of Health, Safety and Wellbeing of all teams whilst on site
  • Conduct monthly audits on operational teams to ensure high standards of work and equipment maintenance – conducting remedial action where required and closing out any correct action in a timely manner
  • Carry out accident and incident investigations and produce a full report outlining the root causes, learning points, together with actions that need to be taken to prevent a reoccurrence
  • Support the scheduling team by reviewing the programme in advance and providing feedback to ensure teams are deployed in the most effective way
  • Work with the Operations Manager and Project Manager to forecast resource requirements and ensure sufficient resources are available to deliver the project. Feedback any concerns or potential resource issues in advance of the planned dates
  • Ensure that there are open lines of communication with the scheduling team and that the team are fully informed of team holidays, training, and downtime
  • Review completed work and evaluate performance
  • Support the Operations Manager with communications and the transfer of information by briefing toolbox talks onsite during supervisory activities
  • Review work packs to ensure they contain the required information for the operational teams carry out the work safely
  • Ensure that all required paperwork is completed by Direct Labour and Sub-Contract teams and that as-laid drawings are accurate and returned as they are completed. Ensure that any rejections are revised and returned within 3 days
  • Demonstrate a commercial and operational awareness in the delivery of the project

 

Experience / Knowledge:

Essential:

Understanding of utility/ construction sector

Excellent knowledge of Energetics Electric procedure and NERS legislation

Identify industrial hazards and health and safety precautions

Be Conversant with testing procedures

Ability to apply Company design/planning procedures and requirements

and requirements.

IT literacy and ability to use computer packages to area of work.  Numerate and accurate when working with figures.

Ability to use Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, and Access Databases.

Strong Communicator, Flexible, willing to adapt to new tasks and duties.

Organised, methodical approach to work with excellent time management skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Team player able to support the team.​
