About the opportunity:

We are currently looking for a permanent Commercial Assistant to join our growing Construction department. This is a remote role however you will be required to be based in South England.

The Commercial Assistant is responsible for supporting in the management of our civils subcontractor financials from receiving quotes to processing application for payments. They will be personally accountable for the day-to-day support of managing the administrative duties associated with the costs of the company’s civil activities.

They will be responsible for, and report monthly on the commercial performance and compliance of civils works undertaken by subcontractors across all projects.

Your responsibilities:

•             Reviewing quotations in adherence to the UKPS framework agreement.

•             Raising of Purchase Orders as per agreed quotations.

•             Identify any nonstandard items at quotation stage.

•             Manage and process all Applications for Payment and Variations associated with civils works in conjunction with Streetworks and Finance.

•             Provide a Monthly KPI’s report on Subcontractor compliance and financial performance.

•             Maintain organised project files and documentation.

•             Assist in the preparation of civil costings for project bids.

•             Collaborate with internal civil and project management staff to ensure smooth project operations.

•             Maintain strong communication with external subcontractors at all times.

•             Support the commercial team on administrative duties where required.

•             Be commercially aware of UKPS’ position within the industry and act as an ambassador for UKPS at all times.

Experience / Knowledge:

Essential:

•             Commercial awareness.

•             Good knowledge of Microsoft office software.

•             Ability to work autonomously and within a team.

Desirable:

•             Previous commercial admin role experience.

•             Previous experience of power, Gas and/or water distribution networks.

Attributes:

•             Excellent communication and ability to build strong working relationships with internal/external stakeholders.

•             Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks across different projects.

•             Highly process driven.

•             A strong work ethic and high level of integrity.

•             Attention to detail and ability to work in a deadline driven environment.
