Cable Pulling Team

About the opportunity:

We are currently looking for a LV/HV Cable installation team to join our growing Resources department. This position is site-based and supervised by our Head Office in Stonehouse but your work region will cover the Midlands and East Anglia

You will install various types of cable via various methods safely and efficiently whilst ensuring no damage occurs to the cable or the existing infrastructure    

This is a physically demanding job which will involve early starts, working in all weathers and lots of driving. You may be required to visit several sites in a day and you may be required to stay away overnight although we aim for most of your work to be within 2 hours of your home address

Your responsibilities:

• Ensure before commencing work you are in receipt of all relevant information required and that you 
• understand the task/s that you have been instructed to undertake; 
• Carry out on site Risk Assessments before commencing works; 
• Promote and demonstrate a culture of Health, Safety & Quality at all times; 
• Ensure all works are carried out to UK Power Solutions Ltd / DNO specifications; 
• Ensure the appropriate usage and calibration of Tools, Equipment & Plant; 
• Make the project supervisor / project manager aware of any project variations; 
• Report all accidents and incidents; 
• Complete all site records and tablet work as required; 
• Ensure any personnel under your supervision have the relevant experience, knowledge & training to carry out tasks; 

About you

• Full UK driving license and ability to tow
• Experienced capstan and or Grundo winch operator with current ticket- 1 team member
• Able to work with no supervision and show a desire to get the job done
• Strong communicator and a team player that is solution focused- be a problem solver not a problem maker
• IT literate (tablet operation) and capable of producing high quality as-laid drawings
• Experienced with drum trailer, winch and drum jacks
• Experience of LV and HV cable install
• Experience of cable installation via direct lay method and through duct
• A thorough understanding of NJUG, sanding, tape, other utilities
