CAD Technician

As a CAD Technician at Last Mile, you will prepare and produce detailed design drawings required for the installation of utility networks. You will also create the associated technical specifications and notes for each stakeholder, while ensuring all revisions are carefully managed and accurately recorded.
We're looking for the successful candidate to be based at one of our offices, Stonehouse (Gloucestershire), London, Warrington or Hamilton (Glasgow).
Your responsibilities as a CAD Technician:
- Produce all required CAD drawings for construction using approved templates and technical standards, ensuring offsite, onsite and internal drawings are created following receipt of the Designer’s approval pack.
- Manage all drawing revisions by accurately date stamping, detailing changes and saving each version in simPRO before issuing updated drawings to the Designer and Engineer for approval.
- Create and maintain legal plans for the land rights process, clearly identifying proposed equipment ownership and recording all revisions before issuing updates to the Designer, Engineer and Land Rights Coordinator.
- Incorporate all Design Variation Orders by updating approved design drawings in line with the DVO design pack, accurately recording revisions and ensuring all amended drawings are saved and issued appropriately.
- Maintain CAD technical standards and templates by storing historical versions, ensuring current DNO standards are correctly applied, reviewing requirements with Designers, Engineers and Operations, and where required providing line management, coaching and support to the CAD team.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Design Experience
- AutoCAD Experience
The successful candidate will be resilient, adaptable, and results-focused, with strong IT literacy and experience using Microsoft Office tools. They will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a proven ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
