About the opportunity: 

We are currently looking for a permanent Asset Technician (Technical Administrator/CAD Technician) to join our growing Asset Adoption department at our Hamilton Office.  

As an Asset Technician, you will support the adoption of Assets into the company by ensuring all asset records are created and updated on 2D AutoCAD As-laids, registered, and stored in the relevant systems and to the relevant standards.

Your responsibilities: 

  • The progression of submissions and timely processing of all information, identifying areas where data is missing and managing this within service standard requirements. 

  • Verification and control of documentation/drawings supplied by providers of utility networks, allowing Completion Certificates to be issued as part of the asset adoption process.  

  • Create, update, and manage clear and accurate asset record drawings (Multi-Utility As-Laid/As-Built) to Company drawing standards.  Ensuring accurate records are always maintained and in line with procedures for future audit purposes. 

  • Assist with the management and maintenance of the networks by effectively and efficiently controlling asset records within the Company’s document management system and into the relevant project folders for retrieval by internal stakeholders.  

  • Ensure highest standard of customer service by working to agreed business standards of service / SLA’s, ensuring on time, quality delivery to both internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Carry out any other duties which are appropriate to the post as reasonably requested by your Manager. 

 

Experience / Knowledge: 

  • Fully proficient user of all Microsoft Office packages   

  • Setting and monitoring of KPIs and working to achieve agreed SLAs 

  • AutoCAD proficient (Desirable, not essential)

Qualifications: 

  • Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 5 or 6 (National 5 or 6, Scottish Vocational Qualification level 2 or 3)  

  • or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role

  • Organised, methodical approach to work with an eye for detail and accuracy 

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
